Who we are

Guestlist Shanghai is operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@guestlistshanghai.com. These terms apply when you use guestlistshanghai.com, buy a ticket, join a list or send a table request through it.

What you are buying

A ticket from us is entry for the named guest to one event, on the night shown, through the Guestlist list. Your name goes on the list we send to the organiser, and your QR code is your proof of purchase. One ticket admits one person.

Every event is run by the organiser and the venue named on the page. Guestlist Shanghai doesn't host or organise events: we sell entry and promote the night; we don't run the venue, the door, the bar or the event itself.

Prices and the booking fee

Prices are shown in yuan (¥); other currencies are a guide converted at our rate on the day. The ticket's face value is set by the organiser, and we add a booking fee (8% + ¥2, rounded up to the next yuan), shown next to the price and at checkout before you pay. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

Refunds

All sales are final. There are no refunds if you can't make it, arrive late, or are refused entry for breaking the venue's rules. If an event is cancelled, you get your full payment back automatically to the card you paid with. If an event is moved to another date, we'll tell you, and your ticket is valid for the new date.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that can't be removed by contract.

Getting in

• 18+ only. Bring your passport or other photo ID; the name must match the ticket or list.
• Entry is at the venue's discretion. The venue can refuse or remove anyone, including for intoxication, behaviour or dress code.
• Free-entry lists have a set number of places: free entry runs until the posted end time or until the list is full, whichever comes first.
• Free-entry windows, welcome drinks, free-flow drinks and similar extras are offered, sold and served by the venue, not by Guestlist Shanghai. We don't sell alcohol. Extras can change on the night and are subject to the venue's limits.
• Ticket sales close a set time after an event starts (normally 2 hours).
• Don't resell tickets for more than you paid. We can cancel tickets that are resold or obtained by fraud.

Tables

Table requests on this site are enquiries, not bookings. A table is only confirmed once the venue confirms it with you, and any deposit or minimum spend is agreed and paid directly with the venue on their terms.

Paying an affiliate directly

Where it's offered, you can pay the affiliate who sent you directly. Your tickets are held for a few hours and issued once the affiliate confirms they've received the full amount shown. If payment isn't confirmed in time, the hold expires.

Our responsibility

The organiser and venue are responsible for the event, the premises, safety, their licences and anything served on the night. If an event doesn't go ahead, our responsibility to you is to refund what you paid us. We aren't liable for indirect losses such as travel or hotel costs.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude.

Affiliates, organisers and venues

Affiliates (people who share our event links for a commission, sometimes called promoters), organisers and venues who work with us are independent businesses or individuals, not our employees or agents, and they are responsible for their own conduct, licences, taxes and their right to work and earn where they are. Separate terms they accept when they sign up apply between us and them.

Using the site

Club nights are posted from information venues give us, often on the day. We check it, but times, prices and offers can change without notice and the venue's information on the night wins. Please don't copy the site's content or scrape it.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version on this page when you buy applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any mandatory consumer protections of your home country.
